What happens when the nervous system is dysregulated

What happens when the nervous system is dysregulated

When the nervous system becomes dysregulated, it can have significant consequences across various aspects of our lives. Physically, it may lead to chronic pain, headaches, digestive problems, muscle tension, fatigue, and disrupted sleep patterns. Mentally, dysregulation can contribute to conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD, affecting mood stability and cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and learning.

What we do

Why we do what we do

At our company, we understand the challenges many clients face on their path to well-being. Despite seeking help from numerous professionals, achieving lasting functionality in life can remain elusive. Through our approach, we’ve recognized that a substantial number of our clients struggle with maintaining stable nervous systems, often due to developmental or other traumas, as well as heightened sensitivity to stressors, neurodevelopmental differences, and many other difficulties.

Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) gives us a window to the function of the brain.

Also known as brain mapping, is a non-invasive technique used to measure and analyze the electrical activity of the brain. This is done by placing electrodes on the scalp and recording the electrical signals produced by the brain.

Event Related Potentials (ERP) gives us a window to how the brain processes information.

The measured brain response that is the direct result of a specific sensory, cognitive, or motor event. ERP’s are specific and can be used to track progress in how the brain is healing/improving functioning in its ability to process information.

The combined analysis of QEEG and ERP is the gold standard.

The QEEG looks at the brain in a resting state, giving information about the functioning of the brain. The event related potential looks at the flow of information in the brain, allowing for diagnostic clarity and a more precise way to measure results.

Each client’s report is tailored to their individual struggles.

We invest considerable time, research, and care into crafting each report. Our aim is to gain clarity regarding potential root causes for the client’s challenges. This report marks the beginning of a journey that may involve treatment in our office, additional consultations with medical professionals, or further assessment.

It serves as a guide, informing our approach to treatment. While we, as clinicians, bring expertise to the table, you are the expert on your own lived experiences. Both perspectives hold value. Therefore, collaboration is essential at every stage of the journey.
